The parameters that affect the cutting quality are: cutting height, cutting nozzle type, focusing position, cutting power, cutting frequency, cutting duty cycle, cutting gas pressure and cutting speed. The hardware conditions are: protective lens, gas purity, plate quality, focusing mirror and collimating mirror.
When the cutting quality of fiber laser cutting is poor, it is recommended to conduct a general inspection first. The main contents and order of general inspection are:

 

1. Cutting height (the actual cutting height is recommended to be between 0.8~1.2mm). If the actual cutting height is inaccurate, calibration is required.
 

2. Check whether the type and size of the cutting mouth are used incorrectly. If correct, check whether the cutting mouth is damaged and whether the roundness is normal.
 

3. Optical center detection recommends using a cutting mouth with a diameter of 1.0. The focus of the optical center detection should be between -1 and 1. This makes the light spot small and easy to observe.
 

4. Protective lens Check whether the protective lens is clean, water-free, oil-free, and slag-free. Sometimes the protective lens fogs up due to weather or too cold air during paving.

 

5. Focus Check whether the focus setting is correct. If the cutting head focuses automatically, be sure to use the mobile phone APP to check whether the focus is correct.

 

6. Modify cutting parameters.

After the above five checks are correct, modify the parameters according to the cutting phenomenon of the fiber laser cutting machine.

How to adjust the parameters according to this phenomenon, the following briefly introduces the state and solution that stainless steel and carbon steel will encounter when cutting.

 

For example, there are many types of stainless steel slag. If only the corner slag is hanging, the roundness of the corner can be considered, and the parameters can reduce the focus, increase the air pressure, etc.

If the whole slag is hanging, it is necessary to reduce the focus, increase the air pressure, and increase the cutting port, but too low a focus or too low an air pressure will cause cross-section stratification and surface roughness. If the whole granular soft slag is hanging, the cutting speed can be appropriately increased or the cutting power can be reduced.

When cutting stainless steel with a fiber laser cutting machine, you may also encounter: when cutting the proximal side slag, you can check whether the gas source is insufficient and the gas flow cannot keep up.
Fiber laser cutting machine cutting carbon steel generally encounters problems such as: thin plate section is not bright enough, thick plate section is rough.
Generally speaking, the brightness of 1000W laser cutting carbon steel does not exceed 4mm, 2000W is 6mm, and 3000W is 8mm.
To cut the part brightly, first of all, it must be a good plate surface without rust, oxidized paint, and no skin, followed by high oxygen purity of at least 99.5%. The following points should be noted in cutting: use a small cutting nozzle double layer 1.0 or 1.2, the cutting speed needs to be faster than 2m/min, and the cutting pressure should not be too large.
If you want the fiber laser cutting machine to cut the thick plate part with good quality, first ensure the purity of the plate and gas, followed by the choice of cutting port. The larger the aperture, the better the section quality, but at the same time the section taper will be greater.
